Working principle of colour pipette
The Colour pipette is a cost-effective and durable pipette from BIO-DL, which includes single channel micro adjustable pipettes ranging from 0.5-1000 μl, single channel adjustable large volume pipettes ranging from 1-5ml, and multi channel micro adjustable pipettes ranging from 5-300 μl.
The working principle of the Colour pipette is based on the principle of air displacement, consisting of a positioning component, a capacity adjustment indicator, a piston, and a suction nozzle. The amount of liquid transferred by a pipette is determined by the distance traveled by a well coordinated piston within the piston sleeve.
Colour pipette calibration method
1. Appearance inspection: Observe visually, manually, or by reading.
2. Capacity verification: (based on the measurement method, using pure water as the medium)
2.1 Take an appropriate amount of clean and dry weighing cup, place it in the balance, and adjust the balance to zero.
2.2 Adjust the capacity of the adjustable pipette to the measured point.
2.3 Tightly fit the suction nozzle onto the lower end of the pipette and gently rotate it to ensure reliable sealing.
2.4 Before testing, the pipette should be aspirated and drained several times.
2.5 Hold the pipette vertically, adjust the button to the first stop point, and immerse the suction nozzle 2-3mm below the liquid level. Then slowly release the button and wait for 1-2 seconds before leaving the liquid level. Wipe off the water outside the suction nozzle (but do not touch the flow port).
2.6 Place the suction nozzle against the inner wall of the weighing cup, completely drain the water, and then move the suction nozzle upwards along the inner wall of the weighing cup. Weigh the discharged pure water using a balance and repeat multiple times (no less than 6 times).
