A pipette, also known as a pipette gun, is a device used for quantitative transfer of liquids. It is widely used in fields such as biology, chemistry, clinical diagnostic laboratories, biotechnology laboratories, pharmacy and chemistry laboratories, environmental laboratories, and food laboratories.
Operation specifications and usage precautions for pipettes:
1.Set pipetting volume
Adjusting from a large range to a small range is the normal adjustment method, simply rotate the scale counterclockwise; When adjusting from a small range to a large range, the pipette should first be adjusted beyond the set volume scale, and then adjusted back to the set volume to ensure the accuracy of the pipette.
2.Assemble the pipette tip
Insert the pipette vertically into the suction head, rotate it half a circle left and right, and tighten it. The method of using a pipette to impact the suction head is highly undesirable. Prolonged operation in this way can cause the parts of the pipette to loosen due to impact, and in severe cases, the knob for adjusting the scale may get stuck during search.
3.Liquid absorption and discharge
Vertical liquid suction, with the tip of the suction head submerged below 3mm of the liquid surface, and the nozzle pre wetted in the liquid before suction; Slowly suck and slowly release. If the amount of liquid is small, the tip of the suction head should be reliable on the inner wall of the container.
4.A liquid filled pipette should not be placed flat, as the liquid inside the pipette tip can easily contaminate the interior and cause rusting of the pipette spring.
